Portsmouth Bus Station was an invited submission for Portsmouth City Council to put forward design concepts for a new central station and reconfiguration of the The Hard into a gateway interchange for Portsmouth.

 

Our design concept pushed the bus movement area to the back of the site enabling us to located passenger waiting areas and travel facilities under an over sailing roof with views out across the old harbour and HMS Warrior. 

 

Our proposal for a wide landscaped promenade along the waters edge simplified the complex pedestrian movements between the new bus facilities, ferry terminal and train station. This promenade connects with a new landscaped pedestrian link between Gunwharf Quays and the entrance to the Historic Docks.
