Sport City, Kuwait, is a proposal for a new leisure and sports scheme with a 400m diameter saltwater lake as its centre point.

We designed the new destination leisure and sports facility to incorporate 2 million sqft of retail: 3 Olympic standard arenas for gymnastics, cycling and swimming; within a new park and lake. New apartments, offices and hotels surround the lake. Its location south of the city centre and next to the national football stadium will combine with planned colleges to create a new city hub. A 250m tall residential and hotel tower provides a city marker for the area.

The scheme provides a venue capable of hosting international sports events. The developers, associated with Kuwait Royal Family, defined a brief which called for an attractive year round destination for use by families, centred around healthy activity, that was enjoyable in midsummer and in the winter months.
